*the phrase was more like “brandished my pretenses at you”, kind of that “pretending that everything is okay but knowing that it’s not, my feelings have grown to the point where I can’t hide them anymore but I have to so you won’t worry but I’ve already decided that I won’t meet you anymore because I care too much for you so this will be the last time” but then the summer festival happened and we all grossly sobbed for perfect OTP
